Baseball Game Preview: Norton Lancers vs. Old Rochester Regional Bulldogs

The Norton Lancers will head out to square off against the Old Rochester Regional Bulldogs at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Norton fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Hopkinton on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hillers by a score of 7-6. The Lancers have struggled against the Hillers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Ben Price was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Grant Crosscup was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Old Rochester Regional). Everything went their way against West Bridgewater on Wednesday as they made off with an 11-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won three contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Norton now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Old Rochester Regional, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
