Basketball Game Preview: South Lenoir Blue Devils vs. East Duplin Panthers

The South Lenoir Blue Devils will head out to challenge the East Duplin Panthers at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Lenoir is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

South Lenoir lost 60-40 to Southwest Onslow on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 412th, while the Stallions are ranked 34th).

Meanwhile, East Duplin scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 77-69 to North Lenoir. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

East Duplin's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for South Lenoir, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

South Lenoir took their win against East Duplin in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 79-56. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was East Duplin's Calvin Harper, who went 11 of 24 on his way to 30 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will South Lenoir still be able to contain Harper? There's only one way to find out.
