Soccer Recap: New Hampstead Comes Up Short

New Hampstead lost against Calvary Day back in April of 2015, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Phoenix lost 12-2 to the Cavaliers. While losing is never fun, New Hampstead can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 409th, while Calvary Day are ranked 81st).

New Hampstead's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Calvary Day, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 10-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Hampstead will face off against McIntosh County Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. New Hampstead are facing McIntosh County Academy at the right time seeing as McIntosh County Academy are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Calvary Day, they will take on South Effingham at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Calvary Day will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: South Effingham will have lost three straight heading into Thursday's match.
