Baseball Recap: Powell Comes Up Short

Powell lost to Corbin back in April of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers fell just short of the Redhounds by a score of 7-6. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jackson Walker was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Powell's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 10-18 when he doesn't).

Powell's defeat dropped their record down to 14-19. As for Corbin, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Powell will square off against Union County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Corbin, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Tates Creek at 12:00 p.m.
