Softball Recap: North Fremont Triumphs

North Fremont took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Wendell, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Huskies won by a run and slipped past the Trojans 6-5. This was a revenge game for the Huskies: when they faced off against the Trojans two weeks ago, they had to take a 14-3 defeat.

Peyton Lenz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Morgan Green was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Grace Heiner, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

The win got North Fremont back to even at 5-5. As for Wendell, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-4.

Looking ahead, North Fremont will take on Grangeville at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Wendell, they will be taking part in a tournament against Nampa Christian at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
