            Softball Preview: Monticello Buckaroo vs. Grand County Red Devils        
        
		
        
        
            The Monticello Buckaroo will venture away from home to  face off against the Grand County Red Devils  at 3:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Monticello is looking for their season's first  win.
Monticello fell victim to Milford and their airtight pitching crew  on Friday. They came up short against  the Tigers, falling  15-0.
 Monticello saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Elise Taylor, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base and one  double.
Meanwhile, Grand County beat North Sevier 6-3  on Thursday. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive  victory against them.
 Hope Shumway spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and two unearned) runs on one hit.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Bailey Altoff, who  went 1-for-3 with one  home run and three  runs. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Zoey Wilson, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Grand County  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  strikeout total in four consecutive  matchups.
 Monticello's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Grand County, their record is now 9-6.
 Monticello suffered a grim  17-0 defeat to Grand County  when the teams last played  back in April of 2024. Can the Buckaroo avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
