Baseball Recap: Montbello Warriors vs. Denver East Angels

Montbello extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 6-16 in the process. They came up short against the Denver East Angels, falling 10-0. Considering the last time the Warriors couldn't score was back in April, the team can't take the result too hard.

As for Denver East, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.

For Denver East's part, not much got past Jacob Wilkerson, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Montbello off the board. Wilkerson has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Denver East got a massive performance out of Jack Lohmeyer, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave Lohmeyer a new career-high. Mason Manley was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

As of now, neither Montbello nor Denver East have any future games scheduled.
