Softball Preview: South Tahoe Vikings vs. Galena Grizzlies        
        
		
            
 After seven games on the road, South Tahoe is heading back home. They will take on the Galena Grizzlies at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
 South Tahoe pushed their score all the way to 16 last Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Sparks by a score of  17-16.
  Addie Menke led a balanced group of hitters,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kaia Kottimier, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-2.
 Even though they lost, South Tahoe was hitting in the alleys and  finished the game with seven  doubles. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sparks only hit two.
 Meanwhile, Galena was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They fell just short of Heritage by a score of  6-4.
 Galena saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Ava Greene, who  went 1-for-1 with a  double and  an  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Emery Snyder, who  got on base  in all two of her plate appearances with a  stolen base and  an  RBI.
 South Tahoe's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Galena, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.
Galena's pitching crew has a tough task ahead of them:  South Tahoe has hit smart this season,  having  averaged  an OBP of .447. It's a different story for Galena, though, as  they've  only  averaged .335. Will they be able to contain South Tahoe's hitters?
