Softball Recap: Oswego Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

Oswego waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Yorkville Foxes. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since May 10th.

Jaelynn Anthony spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Oswego's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kennedy Gengler, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Oswego pushed their record up to 34-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Yorkville, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 24-13.
