Soccer Game Preview: Lakeview vs. Kearney Catholic

Lakeview is 2-7 against Kearney Catholic since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Stars at 6:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Lakeview managed to keep up with The Platte until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Vikings lost 6-0 to The Platte. Lakeview have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Kearney Catholic had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand The Platte a 1-0 shutout. Kearney Catholic's winning goal came courtesy of Breaydan Bergstein.

Kearney Catholic pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Lakeview, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Lakeview came up short against Kearney Catholic in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
