Volleyball Recap: Newark Memorial Comes Up Short

Newark Memorial lost against American back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cougars came up short against the Eagles, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-19, 25-9.

Erin Santos paced Newark Memorial's offense, picking up seven kills. Santos were helped by Gianna Adame and Adiana Kundrat, who contributed seven assists each. Adame was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Newark Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for American, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Newark Memorial is set to face off against their familiar foe James Logan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, American will square off against rival Irvington at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
