Softball Preview: Valley Park Hawks vs. Ursuline Academy Bears
The Valley Park Hawks will square off against the Ursuline Academy Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
Things were looking good for Valley Park after they put the first points on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Windsor, falling 14-5. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Alivia Robison made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Charley Perkins, who went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Meanwhile, Ursuline Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Mehlville a 5-0 shutout.
Valley Park now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Ursuline Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
