Softball Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Western Reserve Blue Devils. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Giuliana Battaglini stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four RBI and one double. Brooklyn Chachko also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Western Reserve, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Blue Devils beat Springfield by a score of 10-8 on Tuesday.
