With a playoff game on the line, Lutheran rose to the challenge on Saturday. They blew past the Mead Mavericks 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

One reason for the win was Lutheran's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17, 25-14.

Lutheran had a senior duo take command as Reese Brgoch had five digs and 13 assists and Lola Heimlicher had eight digs.

Lutheran was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in eight consecutive games.

Lutheran is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. As for Mead, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-10.

Lutheran has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Cheyenne Mountain on the 16th. Mead does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
