Softball Game Preview: Vernon Yellowjackets vs. Holmes County Blue Devils

Vernon is 0-7 against Holmes County since April of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Vernon Yellowjackets will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Holmes County Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. Holmes County took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Vernon, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, everything went Vernon's way against FAMU DRS as Vernon made off with a 21-2 win. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Baby Rattlers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Juliana Brizzolara was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Brizzolara was also solid in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Ava Roche was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Cheyenne Wilson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Holmes County didn't have quite enough to beat Bozeman on Thursday and fell 7-6.
