Softball Recap: Creekside Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Creekside Christian Academy might've scored the first runs on Thursday, but it was Lyndon Academy who claimed the real prize. The Creekside Christian Academy Cougars fell just short of the Lyndon Academy Terriers by a score of 11-10. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Terriers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Heavenly Smith made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Jaley Morris, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Creekside Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Lyndon Academy, the win snapped their losing streak at 11 games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-1 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Creekside Christian Academy will square off against Scholars Guild Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lyndon Academy, they will challenge Peachtree Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
