Recap: Christ Covenant Spartan vs. Jacksonville Christian Academy Conquerors
The Christ Covenant Spartan can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. Everything went their way against Jacksonville Christian Academy as Christ Covenant made off with a 60-37 victory. The score was close at the half, but Christ Covenant pulled away in the second half with 41 points.
Despite the loss, Jacksonville Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Nylah Moore, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Moore also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Goodson, who scored four points along with four steals.
Christ Covenant pushed their record up to 11-1 with that win, which was their ninth straight on the road. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 19.67 points. As for Jacksonville Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christ Covenant will take on Faith Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Faith Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while Christ Covenant is ranked 99th). Jacksonville Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mount Calvary Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Mount Calvary Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday.
