Football Recap: Kodiak Comes Up Short

Kodiak faced Redington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Bears were outmatched by the Huskies and fell 47-6. If the Bears were looking for revenge after losing 52-6 to the Huskies when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kodiak's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Redington, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kodiak will take on Homer at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mariners' defense has only allowed 6.3 points per game this season, so the Bears' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Redington, they will welcome Houston at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Huskies will be up against the Hawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
