Football Recap: Honesdale Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Honesdale had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 19-9 victory over the East Stroudsburg North Timberwolves on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Hornets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kobe White had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 107 yards and three scores. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Honesdale's defense stepped up as well, laying out Wayne King. three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: White, Logan Dieteirch, and Zach Meagher, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Honesdale didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 28-7 loss against Pocono Mountain East on the 29th. As for East Stroudsburg North, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 41-6 defeat against Wallenpaupack Area on the 29th.
