Football Recap: Greenwood Picks Up 26th Consecutive Victory

Greenwood had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victor by a 61-35 margin over the Shiloh Christian Saints on Saturday. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Bulldogs, who until this game were averaging 14.08 points allowed.

Kane Archer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 131 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, and also throwing for 321 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75.9% of his passes. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Grant Karnes was in the mix too, providing Greenwood with two touchdowns.

Shiloh Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jake Bodenstein, who threw for 404 yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance gave Bodenstein a new career-high in passing yards. Griffin Mason helped Bodenstein out on the ground, rushing for 65 yards and two touchdowns, while also picking up 56 receiving yards.

The victory keeps them at an undefeated 13-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.6 points. As for Shiloh Christian, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-4 record.
