Basketball Recap: Brayden Dealto Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Bethany Community

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southern Wake Academy, Clover Garden School was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Bethany Community Wolves 65-42. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Grizzlies also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Clover Garden School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brayden DeAlto led the charge by going 8 for 15 on his way to 16 points and five steals. DeAlto has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Brady Whitt was another key player, going 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points and five steals.

Clover Garden School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Clover Garden School has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Bethany Community, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clover Garden School won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Chatham Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chatham Charter is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season. As for Bethany Community, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Triad Math and Science Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
