Football Game Preview: Erasmus Hall Dutchmen vs. DeWitt Clinton Governors

Erasmus Hall has gone a perfect 4-0 against DeWitt Clinton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 4:00 p.m. One thing working in Erasmus Hall's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Erasmus Hall took a loss when they played away from home back in September, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They were the clear victors by a 52-32 margin over Eagle Academy II. The Dutchmen's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Erasmus Hall got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nayir Jackson out in front who picked up 189 receiving yards and three scores. Kendu Brown was another key signal caller, throwing for 279 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes.

Meanwhile, DeWitt Clinton was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Lincoln and fell 47-8. While losing is never fun, the Governors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 374th, while the Railsplitters are ranked 58th).

DeWitt Clinton's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Erasmus Hall, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Everything came up roses for Erasmus Hall against DeWitt Clinton in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, as the team secured a 41-0 victory. Will the Dutchmen repeat their success, or do the Governors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
