Basketball Recap: Dysart Picks Up 17th Straight Win at Home

Dysart entered their tilt with Tempe on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They put the hurt on the Tempe Buffaloes with a sharp 67-44 win. The Demons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 23 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dysart to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashton Havvard, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Noah Navarra, who went 5 of 8 en route to 10 points.

Tempe lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Arthur Murphy, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. That's the most points Murphy has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Damon Broadnax, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Dysart's victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.7 points. As for Tempe, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

Dysart will be playing in front of their home fans against Desert Sunrise at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dysart knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Desert Sunrise likes a good challenge. As for Tempe, they will venture away from home to face off against Cortez at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tempe is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.5 points per game this season.
