Volleyball Recap: Sturgis West Has No Trouble Against Rising Tide

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Calvary Chapel Academy, Sturgis West was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against Rising Tide as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 last Wednesday.

Sturgis West's got stronger as the match went on, holding Rising Tide to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-13, 25-12.

JoJo Sader was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had ten aces and five digs. Those ten aces gave her a new career-high.

Sader wasn't the only good servers: Sturgis West was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 37 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in five consecutive matchups.

Sturgis West's record is now 4-7. As for Rising Tide, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Coming up, Sturgis West is taking a road trip to square off against Monomoy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Rising Tide, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Cape Cod Academy at 4:00 p.m.
