Baseball Recap: Nimitz Comes Up Short

Nimitz had lost six straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 6-12 to make it seven. They lost 15-5 to the Benjamin Davis Falcons. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 14-0 to the Falcons when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Andrew Curtis was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Matthew Maple, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

As for Benjamin Davis, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-14. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Benjamin Davis' side, the team relied heavily on Rashon Enard, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, two triples, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave Enard a new career-high. Keithas Johnson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

While Nimitz had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
