Baseball Recap: Clinton Takes a Loss

Clinton was the 11-1 winner over Lexington when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Clinton fell just short of Lexington by a score of 3-2 on Friday.

Jack Manning put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Manning was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Manning wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Josh Bass, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases Bass has posted since back in March of 2024. Another was Brock Wilson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Clinton's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lexington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Looking ahead, Clinton will square off against Cornerstone Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Lexington, they will take on Seneca at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
