Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Calallen walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pleasant Grove Hawks on Friday, sneaking past 5-3. The win was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won nine matchups in a row.

Drayton Mitchell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other pitching news, Cody Andrade looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two hits in 21 consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Duke, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Calallen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .379 or higher in three consecutive contests.
