NCSSM: Durham extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 7-1. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Roxboro Community Bulldogs, sneaking past 43-40. This was payback for the Unicorns, who suffered a 35-30 loss the last time these two teams met.

NCSSM: Durham was led to victory by Caroline Meaney and Leira Smith. Meaney dropped a double-double with 15 points and 17 boards, while Smith posted 18 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Violet Bradshaw, who put up six points and three steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Roxboro Community fell to 2-1. The loss put an end to their undefeated start to the season.

Roxboro Community's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Katherine-Kaey 'Katie' Mann, who scored 14 points. Mann has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 23 times she's played. Karrie Obie was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 15 boards.

NCSSM: Durham will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Durham Academy at 5:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Roxboro Community, they will take on Wake Prep Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
