Recap: Jackson Academy Raiders vs. Jackson Prep Patriots
The Jackson Academy Raiders came tearing into Friday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 60-55 win over Jackson Prep. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Leading Jackson Academy to victory were Caleb Gaitor and Mike Williams. Gaitor scored 16 points along with three steals, while Williams scored 21 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Marcus Goodloe, who scored nine points.
Jackson Academy pushed their record up to 21-1 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Jackson Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-5-1.
Jackson Academy will take on Madison Central at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Jackson Prep, they will head out on the road to square off against Hartfield Academy at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hartfield Academy is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
