Football Game Preview: Matanzas Pirates vs. Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks

The Matanzas Pirates will face off against the Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Matanzas' defense has only allowed 11.1 points per game this season, so Cornerstone Charter Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.

On Thursday, Matanzas needed a bit of extra time to put away Florida School for the Deaf & Blind. They snuck past the Dragons with an 18-12 victory. The win was nothing new for the Pirates as they're now sitting on three straight.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Cornerstone Charter Academy's offense. They had to suffer through a 36-0 loss at the hands of Liberty. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Ducks have suffered since March 1st.

Matanzas' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.0 points on average over those games. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
