Softball Recap: Derby Takes a Loss

Derby was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Crosby Bulldogs, falling 21-9. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-8 two weeks ago.

Ari McNeill was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Jaelynn Dwyer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Derby's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Crosby, they moved to 3-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Derby will be playing in front of their home fans against Wolcott at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Crosby, they will venture away from home to take on Hartford Public at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
