Softball Recap: Tri-City Christian Takes a Loss

Tri-City Christian fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Escondido Charter on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 5-4. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Tri-City Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Lisak, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Kaedyn Ybarra was another, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Tri-City Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5-1. As for Escondido Charter, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Tri-City Christian and Escondido Charter should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Tri-City Christian will face off against Santa Fe Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (284 vs. 576). Meanwhile, Escondido Charter (ranked 151st) will meet Foothills Christian (ranked 507th) at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 2.2, the Knights 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
