Baseball Recap: Mahomet-Seymour's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

Mahomet-Seymour dropped their record down to 15-7 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 6-0 to the Prairie Central Hawks. Considering the last time the Bulldogs couldn't score was back in April, the team can't take the result too hard.

As for Prairie Central, the victory snapped their losing streak at 11 games and leaves them with a 6-22 record. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 8th (when they won 14-3).

For Prairie Central's part, not much got past Collin Hartman, who gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Mahomet-Seymour off the board. Hartman is becoming a predictor of the Hawks' success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is undefeated (and 3-22 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Will Skala and Tony Schahrer did most of the damage at the plate: Skala went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, while Schahrer went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits Skala has posted since back in March.

Coming up, Mahomet-Seymour will be playing at home against Tri-Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Prairie Central, they will host Pontiac at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
