Preview: El Monte vs. Marshall
If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for El Monte. They will challenge Marshall on the road at 7:00 PM on Thursday. El Monte are coming into the matchup hot, having won three in a row.
El Monte put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season last Friday. Everything came up roses for them against Mountain View as the team secured a 59-14 win. No one put up better numbers for El Monte than junior Davon Booth, who brought his A game into the match. He picked up 83 yards on the ground and caught passes for 138 yards. Booth has been a consistent playmaker for El Monte as this was the 6th good game in a row from him.
Marshall ended up forfeiting their match against South El Monte three weeks ago.
El Monte took the contest and then some with a 59-7 victory the last time the two teams met over Marshall. The rematch might be a little tougher for El Monte since the team won't have home-field advantage. Watch the game and check back on MaxPreps to see if the change in venue makes a difference.
