Preview: Westlake Wolverines vs. Chopticon Braves
The Westlake Wolverines will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chopticon Braves at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (Westlake is ranked 187th, while Chopticon is ranked 178th).
Westlake posted their closest win yet this season on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past McDonough 46-44. The win made it back-to-back wins for Westlake.
Raynna Ratchford was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Akeylah McPherson was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Chopticon suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They were outmatched by St. Charles at home and fell 67-31. Chopticon has struggled against St. Charles recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Westlake's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Chopticon, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-10.
