Basketball Recap: DeKalb County Comes Up Short

DeKalb County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 56-40 to the Warren County Pioneers & Lady Pioneers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-44 back in December of 2024.

Warren County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chance Whitlock out in front who went 5 for 6 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds. Those 14 points gave Whitlock a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Devin Fish, who posted ten points.

DeKalb County's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Warren County, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

DeKalb County has already played their next game (against White County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Warren County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lincoln County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
