Basketball Game Preview: Field Falcons vs. Streetsboro Rockets

Field is 1-9 against Streetsboro since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Falcons will welcome the Rockets at 7:00 p.m. Field has given up an average of 56.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Field's last matchup with Manchester could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. The Falcons were outmatched by the Panthers and fell 65-26. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 693rd, while the Panthers are ranked 158th).

Meanwhile, Streetsboro strolled past Ravenna with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 58-42. The Rockets haven't had any issues with the Ravens recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Streetsboro's win came from a few key players that Field will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Janiere Cook, who went 7-for-13 en route to 21 points along with five boards and four steals. His big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Percy Robinson, who shot 47% from the field on his way to 17 points and five steals.

Streetsboro was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They are 8-3 when they've passed the ball that well.

Streetsboro now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Field, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.

Field barely slipped by Streetsboro in their previous meeting back in December of 2025, winning 51-50. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rockets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
