Volleyball Recap: Vista PEAK Prep Falls Despite Big Games from Yasir Dickey and Ava Eltzroth

After flying high against Brighton on Wednesday, Vista PEAK Prep came back down to earth. The Bison lost 3-0 to the Elizabeth Cardinals on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Bison in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost four in a row.

While Vista PEAK Prep had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-21, 25-21.

Ava Eltzroth and Yasir Dickey certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Eltzroth had 24 assists and four digs, while Dickey had 12 digs and one assist. Eltzroth has been hot, having posted 24 or more assists the last five times she's played.

Vista PEAK Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Elizabeth, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-4.

Vista PEAK Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Smoky Hill on the 22nd. As for Elizabeth, they will take on Sand Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Cardinals' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
