Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Pine-Richland

Pine-Richland never let their opponents score on Monday. They came out on top against the New Castle Hurricanes by a score of 3-0. The victory was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Keegan Deihl tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over 6.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tanner Cunningham, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Logan Plummer also deserves some recognition as he hit his first doubles of the season.

Pine-Richland pushed their record up to 16-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for New Castle, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.

Pine-Richland will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hurricanes: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
