Preview: Kaiser Cats vs. Santa Monica Vikings
The Kaiser Cats will be playing at home against the Santa Monica Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kaiser will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Kaiser extended their postseason success on Friday against Los Osos. They slipped by the Grizzlies 50-49. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Kiyel Tyler went supernova for Kaiser, rushing for 317 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per carry. Tyler was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Marshall Jr, who rushed for 121 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries.
Meanwhile, Santa Monica strolled past Troy with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 35-20. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Santa Monica.
Caden Mccallum continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 72 yards and three touchdowns. David Solis-Valdovinos made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Kaiser pushed their record up to 9-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of three points across that stretch. As for Santa Monica, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.
