Basketball Preview: Big Bend Roadrunners vs. Marfa Shorthorns
The Big Bend Roadrunners will be playing at home against the Marfa Shorthorns at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Big Bend has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while the Shorthorns will arrive with eight straight wins.
Last Tuesday, Big Bend suffered a rough 64-44 defeat at the hands of the Cougars. Big Bend was down 52-30 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Even though Marfa has not done well against the Eagles recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Marfa enjoyed a cozy 38-23 win over the Eagles.
Big Bend dropped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Marfa, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.
