Caribou waltzed into their game on Saturday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They snuck past the Mount Desert Island Trojans with a 59-55 win. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while the Trojans are ranked 25th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Caribou pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.1 points per game. As for Mount Desert Island, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

When Caribou and Mount Desert Island next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Caribou will face off against Old Town and their three-game winning streak at 3:30 p.m. on February 1st. Meanwhile, Mount Desert Island will try to stop Foxcroft Academy's six-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
