Softball Recap: Walt Whitman Wildcats vs. Riverhead Blue Waves

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three contests, Walt Whitman finally came back down to earth on Monday. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 7-0 walloping at the hands of the Riverhead Blue Waves. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Walt Whitman in their matchups with Riverhead: they've now lost five in a row.

For Riverhead's part, Mya Marelli was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched.
