Basketball Recap: Ayden Ducre and Jerry Birdlow Secure Win for Slidell + How To Watch

It was a proper cat-fight when Slidell challenged Belle Chasse on Monday. The Tigers came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 69-56. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 71-69 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Slidell was led to victory by Jerry Birdlow and Ayden Ducre. Birdlow dropped a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Ducre went 8-for-14 on his way to 20 points along with seven boards and five steals. What's more, Birdlow also posted a 78% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Oliver Hankinson, who shot 63% from the field en route to 12 points.

Slidell's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Belle Chasse, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Slidell won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Covington at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Belle Chasse, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Kennedy at 5:00 p.m.
