Football Recap: Mater Dei Victorious

Mater Dei's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 27-19 win over the Downey Vikings.

Downey's loss came despite strong showings from Madeline Garcia and Chloe Cotton. Garcia threw for 254 yards and two TDs while completing 72.7% of her passes, while Cotton picked up 120 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Cotton showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 60 yards.

Mater Dei now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Downey, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Mater Dei has already played their next game (against Rosary Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Downey, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 37-6 victory against Western Christian on the 13th.
