Volleyball Recap: Phillipsburg Comes Up Short

Phillipsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Trego Golden Eagles. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Golden Eagles earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Phillipsburg sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-21, 23-25, 25-12.

Trego found their leader in freshman Delana Brown, who had 11 digs. Those 11 digs set a new season-high mark for Brown.

Phillipsburg's loss dropped their record down to 11-16. As for Trego, their record is now 11-14.

Coincidentally, Phillipsburg and Trego will both be playing Hoxie the next time they take the court. The Golden Eagles will host the Indians at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
