Softball Recap: Ann Sobrato's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

After flying high against Westmont last Tuesday, Ann Sobrato came back down to earth. The Ann Sobrato Bulldogs came up short against the Wilcox Chargers on Wednesday, falling 11-3. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Ann Sobrato saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Bouton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Zoe Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

The defeat snapped Ann Sobrato's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-1 record. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Wilcox, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.

As for Wilcox, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mountain View at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wilcox is facing Mountain View at the right time seeing as Mountain View is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
