Volleyball Game Preview: Mt. Vernon Mustangs vs. Dubuque Senior Rams

The Mt. Vernon Mustangs will square off against the Dubuque Senior Rams on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Mt. Vernon took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Independence 3-0. Mt. Vernon hasn't had any issues with Independence recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Dubuque Senior hadn't done well against Xavier recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Rams were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Saints. That three set margin sets a new team best for the Rams this season.

Mt. Vernon's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Dubuque Senior, their win bumped their record up to 17-11.

Mt. Vernon beat Dubuque Senior 2-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
