Basketball Game Preview: Brantley County Herons vs. Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane

The Brantley County Herons will square off against the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Brantley County will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Pierce County, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Brantley County came out on top against Pierce County last Friday by a score of 57-52 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). Given the Herons' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while the Bears are ranked 500th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Fitzgerald came tearing into Saturday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Indians by a score of 65-53.

Fitzgerald's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Brantley County, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
