Softball Recap: St. Petersburg Takes a Loss

St. Petersburg's last matchup with Clearwater could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Wednesday. St. Petersburg lost 12-2 to Clearwater. The loss leaves the Green Devils still looking for their first win of the season.

Victoria Wirth was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

St. Petersburg's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Clearwater, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Coming up, St. Petersburg will face off against Pinellas Park at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pinellas Park has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.3 runs per game on average), something St. Petersburg will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Clearwater, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against East Lake at 7:00 p.m. East Lake will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Clearwater surely won't give up without a fight.
